Consumer preference and new technologies are driving aluminium closure adoption worldwide. While the vast majority of wine bottles are still sealed with cork, winemakers around the world are increasingly choosing innovation over tradition – and they’re finding innovation in aluminium closures.

In 1964, after nearly a decade of research and testing, the first aluminium wine closure hit the market. The Amcor Stelvin closure offered wine producers a cure for the cork taint that affects approximately five percent of all cork-sealed bottles to this day.
