Evaluation of endocrine disrupting compounds migration from food containers

31/03/2018

CATEGORY: Materiales de envase

Plasticisers and other compounds used in the manufacture of food containers may migrate to the food inside them, and some may act as endocrine disruptors if consumed.

This study seeks to evaluate this migration from the consumer’s point of view, and has been designed to reproduce as closely as possible normal patterns of use (storage and heating/cooking) as found in the home. Four food simulants were used for this, studied under different  storage and/or heating conditions and with different periods of contact.
