According to FAO data, every year 1.300 million tons of food are wasted, which is equivalent specifically to a third of their world production, with the associated social, environmental and economic problems. One of the main strategies to avoid the waste of food is to extend the shelf life of products by packaging them with materials with barrier properties, generally materials with multilayer structures (eg PET / PE, PET / EVOH / PE, OPP / OPP, PET / met / PE, etc).
