drinktec on the home stretch

CATEGORY: Fairs BRAND: drinktec

Preparations are well underway for the world’s leading trade fair for beverages and liquid food.

From September 12 to 16, 2022, Messe München is the place to be for all experts in the beverage and liquid food industry. In 12 trade fair halls over about 130,000 square meters, around 1,200 exhibitors will present their innovations, solutions and technologies addressing all the needs of the future-oriented production of beverages and liquid food.

The hall areas

The exhibition areas cover the entire value chain for their respective products. The spectrum comprises product-specific process and packaging solutions in Halls A4, A6, B4 to B6 as well as C3 and C6. Raw materials and additives will be presented in Hall A5 – this is also where all those interested in catering facilities and marketing activities will find the right provider for them. Overall process technology will be presented in Halls A3 and B3 – this includes components, robotic solutions, lab equipment and IT solutions. With PETpoint, Hall C5 is all about the topics surrounding the packaging material PET, while Hall C4 pools together among others all the exhibitors offering containers and packaging materials of every kind. The special show oils+fats – already a familiar component of drinktec – will be located in Hall C3.

Due to the densely packed trade fair calendar in the first year since the pandemic, drinktec will be accessible via the North, North-East and East entrances for the first time. Visitors arriving by public transport will only be able to reach the trade fair grounds via the underground station Messestadt Ost. Visitors arriving by car should head to the North-West entrance from the parking garage.

Visitors from all over the world

The simple fact that drinktec covers the entire value chain for the whole production industry makes visiting drinktec interesting for visitors from all over the world. This broad spectrum of interest can be clearly determined from the visitor surveys from the previous event: drinktec appeals to visitors from the area of the production and packaging of soft drinks (necessary for water and juices), who represent a share of more than 60 percent. Just over 40 percent of visitors look for appropriate solutions for the beer industry. Users from the liquid food sector, with liquid, milk-based products, as well as the oils and fats sectors make up around 30 percent. The wine industry is also regularly represented at drinktec: Some 25 percent of visitors come from the wine industry.

Furthermore, the mix of visitors from all over the world is also a clear benefit of drinktec, with a third each from Germany, Europe and international markets.

New tools

In addition to the tried-and-tested search possibilities such as the online Exhibitor Directory, drinktec now also offers the new Solutions Directory. Regardless of detailed knowledge, everyone can search specifically for the respective task and find appropriate solutions. Users can find more information under “Solutions Directory” at

As the world’s leading trade fair, drinktec is well known for its world premieres and ability to innovate. For visibility and ease of finding, the trade fair once again offers the Innovation Guide (only available in the app) to all registered visitors as of the opening of the trade fair. Visitors can be guided by the app and thus visit the stands in a targeted way.

Special areas offer additional benefits

This year, too, drinktec confirms its commitment not only to depict the current developments and offerings of its exhibitors, but also to offer additional know-how with themed special areas. For example, in Hall C6, spaces are intended for the “World of Labels” and start-ups highlighting inspiration for designs and labels. What’s more, all visitors looking for new flavors will benefit from a visit to Hall A5. There, the exhibitors in the New Beverage Concepts Area will inspire visitors with their smart sweetener, color and enrichment concepts.

Picking up on trends and illustrating their content is a matter of course for drinktec. These four top topics cover the current requirements of the industry:

  • Sustainable Production & Sustainable Packaging
  • Digital Solutions & Digital Transformation
  • Water & Water Management
  • Consumer World & Product Design

These key topics for drinktec 2022 were defined together with the industry and the ideal sponsor of drinktec, the VDMA.

Naturally, the free supporting program contributes to these focal topics and offers all exhibitors a forum to present their innovative solutions on the big stage in the drinktec Inspiration Hubs in Halls A3 and C6.

The importance of networking

Enjoy beers from around the world and gain information about the training institutions for brewing science: At place2beer, drinktec will use this concept to once again show that learning and enjoyment go hand in hand.

Compete with the best – that’s the aim of all those who participate in champion-ships and awards ceremonies. The German Championship of Hobby Brewers, the European Beer Star Award, the Championship for Beer Sommeliers and the World Beverage Innovation Awards demonstrate that innovation and competition are a must for many members of the industry. The entire portfolio for networking is available under “Events & Networking” at
