CATEGORY: Pharmacy and Parapharmacy BRAND: INVpack

Packaging plays a key role in the pharmaceutical sector, where there are very specific needs throughout the packaging process, with extensive demands, regulations and requirements.

A good solution for this type of product is flexible single-dose packaging. The result of this is a light, resistant and practical packaging for daily consumption.

One of the main players in the sector is the company INVpack, with more than 20 years of experience and more than 600 machines installed around the world, which develops high-demand packaging projects.

Throughout its history, INVpack has developed very diverse projects for countries with very varied circumstances; it is worth mentioning a specific pharmaceutical product packaging project, due to its high level of demand and, above all, the excellent results at production and quality level.

Packaging line for pharmaceutical products in sachets.

It is a packaging project for liquid/viscous product in sachet format with tear notch and bottleneck for product input and output.

The challenge was to achieve a production of 960 units per minute with their corresponding packing.

The machines chosen for this were 2 MVA12 model machines with 8 lanes each (16 in total), located symmetrically in order to work with a single machine-driving position.

The line has elements such as: lateral reel loading adapted to the client's room, with its corresponding inspection chambers for both code (pharmacode) and marking (expiration date and lot number).

It also features a dispenser with a flowmeter, Full CIP/SIP, Cartoner Toploader with grouping system and pick&place for the output of sachets to the intermittent indexed transfer and to the secondary, which comprises a multi-format Toploader equipped with a flat-box former from the warehouse and with a glue group, a pick&place for grouping and stacking sachets with a box closer, with a leaflet dispenser.

Likewise, this line is equipped with all controls and counter-controls in accordance with GMP pharmaceutical standards, and has all the IQ/OQ/PQ documentation.

In short, this is an example of INVpack's capabilities and experience, and of the effectiveness of making use of vertical packaging machinery (VFFS), especially in projects with high technical requirements and demands, such as the pharmaceutical sector. It also highlights the ability of companies like INVpack to adapt and develop any pharmaceutical packaging project in a flexible single-dose format.

INVpack will be present at interpack 2023 at stand C23, Hall 15.
