On 19 June, we held the General Assembly, led by our President, Marta Codoñer, which was attended by representatives of the 280 associated companies and where we took balance of a particularly significant year for the technology centre: our 30th anniversary, which we are closing with new milestones of growth, innovation and sectorial impact.

In the session, as part of ITENE's commitment to good corporate governance and transparency in management, the results of 2024 and the main advances in 2025 were presented. The 2024 figures reflect the strength of our model and the growing confidence of the industrial and scientific ecosystem in our work. We have grown by 8% compared to the previous year, reaching 14.31 million euros and with a forecast of 15.15 million euros in total revenues by the end of 2025.

This evolution has been possible thanks to an approach focused on the development of high-value solutions for companies and the reinforcement of our scientific and technological capabilities. The investment made in 2024 - 2.78 million euros - has enabled us to continue to expand and modernise our infrastructures and equipment.

In fact, one of the most relevant milestones of the year has been the expansion of our headquarters with the creation of ITENE INNOLAB, our new technology transfer space that has added 1,132.60 m² of usable area thanks to the support of IVACE+I from the Valencian Government. This collaborative environment connects companies, innovation experts and researchers, and has already become a driving force to promote new technological developments that respond to the great challenges of packaging, logistics and sustainability.

We have also surpassed 200 employees, reaching 213 professionals at present, which shows the size and dynamism of our multidisciplinary team. This internal strength has been accompanied by extensive external activity: in 2024 we worked with 1,017 customers. In total, we established effective partnerships with 1,620 companies, including our activities in non-financial projects.

Moreover, at international level, ITENE achieved in 2024 a funding of 7.77 million euros through European programmes for 11 R&D&I projects, five of which are being coordinated by the centre itself. This leadership strengthens our position as a strategic partner in international consortia seeking to develop cutting-edge technologies.

On the other hand, ITENE organised in 2024 a total of 122 online and face-to-face events with 5,178 attendees and the participation of 2,537 different companies. Among these events, the organisation of the 24th IAPRI World Packaging Conference, which gathered in Valencia more than 400 experts from 32 countries around the world, consolidating ITENE as an international reference in packaging innovation. Moreover, we took part in 80 key forums in our fields of expertise with an attendance of 4,045 professionals.

All this is a sign of ITENE's strong support to the companies in the packaging value chain, accompanying them in overcoming key challenges such as the adaptation to new legislative requirements or food safety. Precisely, the latter has been one of the topics presented during the Assembly in a keynote speech in which our experts addressed the current legislative framework for all types of food contact packaging (wood, plastic, paper and cardboard, metal, ceramics, etc.) and delved into substances of concern and their regulatory impact.

Today there is greater social awareness of the interaction of packaging with products, especially food products. At the same time, there are great advances in technological equipment that allow for more accurate analysis. In ITENE we incorporate these capabilities, as well as the most advanced analytical techniques applied to reinforce our commitment to the health and food safety of the whole society.

In this scenario of constant transformation, and as was reflected in our General Assembly of Members, ITENE continues working with a vision of the future, anticipating the challenges posed by the market and reinforcing our mission to support companies in their transition to the circular economy, as well as the safety, design and functionality of packaging.
