Packaging management



Packaging has evolved from a purely operational function that must be properly adjusted and optimized, to also incorporate a strategic function that allows a clear differentiation not only at the point of sale, but also in alignment with the environmental and legislative objectives of the company. The packaging area is therefore understood as a strategic and multidisciplinary area that must coordinate projects with diverse functional and operational areas.

In the simplest sense, and as far as the operational function is concerned, the packaging system has to be designed in such a way as to achieve the optimum point in terms of adequate product protection while minimising environmental impact, avoiding under-packaging that causes excessive product losses, or over-packaging that increases costs.


On the other hand, packaging can play an important role in the success or failure of a product sale. In fact, long term success can only be guaranteed when a good product is combined with an effective packaging that maximizes the sales opportunity in the selected channel, at the right price, and in compliance with the different technical, environmental and legislative requirements.
