Renewable and Recyclable Polyurethane: The Key to a Circular Life Cycle in the Packaging Industry
27/05/2025

Polyurethane materials are widely used in industry due to their versatility and mechanical and thermal properties.
Specifically, in the packaging sector, in addition to being present in cushioning materials, they are also part of the well-known group called CASE (coatings, adhesives, sealants, and elastomers), with notable use in resins or dispersions for inks and coatings, as well as the base for adhesives in flexible paper and plastic packaging. However, the widespread use of polyurethane materials faces significant challenges in integrating sustainable pathways into their life cycle.
The life cycle of these materials leads to a linear value chain, where more than 90% of the waste ends up in landfills or is incinerated as the only management alternatives, potentially releasing toxic substances. Currently, to address this limitation, the industry is...READING MORE AT https://www.infopack.es/revista/323/index80.html
