In recent years, sustainability in the field of packaging has become a fundamental pillar in the environmental policies of the European Union, especially after the recent approval of Regulation 2025/40 on packaging and packaging waste.

In this context, Spanish legislation has intensified its efforts to encourage the use of reusable packaging, promoting a significant change in the packaging industry. Law 7/2022 on Waste and Contaminated Land for a Circular Economy, together with Royal Decree 1055/2022 on Packaging and Packaging Waste, set ambitious targets to reduce the consumption of single-use plastics and increase the reuse and recycling of materials.
