27/06/2023CATEGORY: JAVIER ZABALETA, managing director of itene
In a world characterised by rapid technological advances, global crises and more stringent packaging legislation, the industry faces unprecedented challenges
To respond to these demands and ensure a competitive business future, highly qualified professionals with a comprehensive vision of the packaging value chain are required. That is why the ITENE research centre and the Institute of Agrochemistry and Food Technology of the Spanish National Research Centre for Scientific Research (IATA-CSIC) have launched a new edition of the Master in Packaging Technology, a pioneering programme that trains the new packaging experts that the industry needs.
The entry into force of new legislation, such as the Law on Waste and Contaminated Soil, the Royal Decree on Packaging and Packaging Waste or the future European Regulation on Packaging and Packaging Waste, has marked a paradigm shift in the field of packaging. Companies are forced to adapt quickly to these regulations.
But how can company professionals who now have to approach packaging from a strategic point of view adapt and recycle themselves?
This master's degree is aimed at managers and technicians in packaging, purchasing, quality, R&D, design, marketing, etc. who feel the need to progress in their professional development in all aspects related to packaging technologies in the sectors of packaging suppliers, packagers and large-scale distribution.
In addition to complying with regulatory aspects, packaging must fulfil an operational and strategic function. This is where the professionals trained in the Master in Packaging Technology come into play, who have the ability to implement the latest trends in packaging materials, processes and design.
Since its first edition in 1996, the Master has constantly evolved to adapt to the changing needs of the industry. The next edition, to be held from October 2023 to July 2024, will be the 16th and will give students the opportunity to access theoretical and practical contents taught by more than a hundred lecturers from the entire packaging value chain. Experts from ITENE and IATA-CSIC will join professionals from leading companies, universities and research centres to provide an enriching and diverse experience.
During the Master, students will also have the opportunity to listen to testimonials from 30 leading companies in the sector, which will allow them to understand the challenges and learn about experiences from a business perspective. Practical sessions will also take place in ITENE's laboratories, offering students the opportunity to apply the knowledge acquired in a real environment. All this in a 100% online environment with ad hoc didactic techniques.
As the culmination of the programme, students will develop a final project related to their area of activity, which will demonstrate the integration of all the knowledge acquired throughout the Master's degree. This practical and business-oriented approach ensures that students apply what they have learnt to their day-to-day work.
Don't miss the opportunity to join this master and become the packaging expert the industry needs. Discover how to make a difference and lead innovation in the world of packaging and we look forward to seeing you on the Master in Packaging Technology!
