These three projects —with Carrefour, Cunnington, and Las Quinas Akamasoa— taught me that it’s possible to make a difference, even a small one. That it’s worth raising your hand, asking a tough question, or proposing something no one asked for. And that design, when driven by purpose, can be much more than just aesthetics.

 

1. Carrefour: Identifying Materials to Empower the Consumer

Carrefour asked us to adapt its new design to more than 2,000 private-label products. But we saw an opportunity: to align that work with its sustainability message. So we proposed something concrete: clearly labeling the materials in each package, much like the How2Recycle system.
